About Celina
Celina Schou is an intuitive mixed media artist with a lifelong passion for art.
Celina’s journey as an artist is rooted in a lifelong passion that began in childhood. Inspired by her grandfather, a ceramic artist, Celina’s love for art was nurtured early on at the Salisbury School of Art in Zimbabwe under the guidance of renowned artist Peter Birch. Although she was encouraged to pursue more conventional paths, art remained a constant presence—quietly developing as a personal pursuit alongside her professional life.
After taking early retirement, Celina embraced the opportunity to return to her creative roots with full commitment. Over the past two decades, she has studied extensively with a number of respected artists including Pim de Jongh, Anna Sacquepe, Marina Kulik, Oscar Brask, and Marina Teding van Berkhout. These years of exploration and learning have given her a strong foundation in colour theory, composition, and technique across multiple mediums, including drawing, painting, and clay sculpture.
Today, Celina is an active member of the Hangar art community in Châteauneuf-de-Grasse, France, and paints regularly with the Swedish collective Carpe Diem Art. Her recent work is focused on abstract acrylic and mixed media, where she explores texture, emotion, and movement with a bold and intuitive style.
Celina’s art is a reflection of a life reclaimed—an ongoing dialogue between discipline and freedom, tradition and experimentation.
